Parent Teacher Conferences: A Benefit for Your Student
Conferences are an important opportunity for you, the parent, to discuss how your child is doing in school and to strengthen the partnership between you and your child’s teacher(s). Working with your child’s teacher(s) helps your student achieve his/her academic success. By participating in Parent Teacher conferences, you will also make sure your child’s school experience is a successful one.
Helpful hints in preparing for your conference:
• Ask your student if (s)he is having a difficult time with a particular subject.
• Ask your student if (s)he has questions or concerns for you to discuss with the teacher(s).
• Write down any questions you and/or your child may have for the teacher(s).
• Ask if there is more you can do at home to support your child regarding improving his/her learning skills.
• Follow up on any strategies you agreed to try at home.
