Rumor Watch

The Sioux City Community School District is dedicated to making sure our community is informed. In an effort to improve communications we have created Rumor Watch. We hope this format will allow our community to receive answers, and address rumors that might be circulating. Rumors negatively impact our community and the district takes them very seriously.  

All questions will be answered; however, it might take up to two business days to compile the information. Issues that we think impact a number of people in the community will be posted. For individual or private concerns, you should contact the school or district office by phone.

Rumor: I heard that the renovation and/or construction of Washington Elementary School has been pushed up on the future facilities timeline?
This is false. The school board did discuss this project at the board work session on December 15. At this time they have decided there are other projects that take priority over the renovation and/or construction of Washington Elementary School.
